It becomes data. Every customer call, AI-agent interaction and business conversation creates valuable information. vCon turns that conversation into structured, portable and governed data for AI. On October 13, the people building with the standards, applications and ecosystem come together in Atlanta. As of October 9, 2026 ## Understand vCon in one morning. You don't need to arrive knowing vCon. Thomas McCarthy-Howe takes you from "What is a vCon?" through the architecture, use cases and concepts you need to understand conversation data in the AI era. Come curious. Leave conversant. ## Your FDE knows the model. Do they know the conversation? For conversational AI, the deployment strategy can't stop at the agent. The conversation itself needs an architecture. Hiring an FDE for conversational AI? Make vCon part of the deployment strategy. Model Agent Enterprise Systems vCon · Conversation Data context · media · participants · consent · provenance · analysis Know the model. Know the agent. Know the conversation. ### Morning Understand vCon. Thomas McCarthy-Howe takes attendees from the fundamentals through the architecture and concepts. Come curious. Leave conversant. ### Afternoon Build with vCon. See what happens when vCon meets production deployments, provenance, identity, AI agents, fraud, governance and the ecosystem. Meet the people working on these problems now. ## Learn vCon. Meet the people building with it. The vCon Summit brings the community together in one room: the people developing the standard, building vCon applications, putting vCons into production, and exploring what comes next. Ask questions live. Compare approaches. Find partners. Do business. ## The day in detail. 8:15 AM Registration Opens 9:00 AM, Welcome ### Morning · Understanding vCon Taught by: Thomas McCarthy-Howe, CTO, vConic 9:00 AM Welcome Jeff Pulver · Chair · The vCon Foundation The vCon Foundation opens the Day 9:10 AM Why Conversations Need a File Format Thomas McCarthy-Howe · CTO · vConic What vCon is and why a file format for conversations changes everything for AI. 25 min + 5 min Q&A. 9:40 AM Data Privacy Thomas McCarthy-Howe · CTO · vConic How vCon handles data privacy in conversation records. 25 min + 5 min Q&A. 10:10 AM The Conversation Graph Thomas McCarthy-Howe · CTO · vConic How conversations connect — the graph structure that makes vCon powerful for AI. 25 min + 5 min Q&A. 10:40 AM, Break 10:40 AM Break 10:55 AM Small Ball and Long Ball Thomas McCarthy-Howe · CTO · vConic Near-term and long-term vCon deployment strategy. 25 min + 5 min Q&A. 11:25 AM The Network Problem Thomas McCarthy-Howe · CTO · vConic How vCon solves the network problem for AI voice. 25 min + 5 min Q&A. 11:55 AM Closing the Loop Thomas McCarthy-Howe · CTO · vConic Bringing the primer together — what comes next. 25 min + 5 min Q&A. 12:30 PM, The vCon Foundation Member Lunch ### Afternoon · Building With vCon 12:30 PM vCon Foundation Member Lunch 2:00 PM A Major Step Forward for vCon: What Is New in the Core Spec, What It Unlocks, and How to Bring Your vCons Along Dan Petrie · President · SIPez The IETF vCon core spec is getting its most significant update to date, changing how a conversation is modeled. A new Session Object ties together the parties, dialogs and events of each call, and events such as joins, holds and transfers now stand on their own. The payoff is that vCon handles multi-segment calls better and can now describe complex conferences and conversations that move between humans, AI agents and the tools they use. Analysis now records its inputs, and standard redaction tagging is coming soon. Existing vCons will need converting, and most convert cleanly; I will walk through examples of the new capabilities and of the migration. The draft is still being edited ahead of the November IETF vCon Working Group meeting, so now is the time to learn what changed and have your say. 2:45 PM The vCon Is Your Compliance Witness: Auditable AI Voice in Regulated Industries RJ Burnham · Founder & CEO · Consig AI Learn how signed vCons, SCITT transparency receipts and the IETF lawful_basis extension can create auditable proof of consent and compliance for outbound Voice AI in regulated industries. 3:05 PM Human in the Loop Audrey Hayn · Co-Founder & COO · MindMaking Jeff Pulver · Chair · The vCon Foundation Jeff Dworkin · Managing Director · The Cloud Voice Alliance (Moderator) Where human judgment belongs when AI participates in conversations, including oversight, escalation, accountability and what should be preserved in the conversation record. 3:25 PM, Break 3:25 PM Break 3:40 PM Anatomy of a High Value vCon & Tight Integration Dan Petrie · President · SIPez A practical look at what makes a vCon valuable and how applications, communications platforms and conversation data should be tightly integrated. 4:00 PM Fraud Has a Pattern. vCons Have the Signal.
